Plant a hedge

If you have a garden that borders a road, consider planting a hedge if you do not already have one. Hedges have been shown to reduce particulates and improve air quality.

When cooking pasta, rice, vegetables etc on a hob, first boil a kettle of water and pour into the saucepan – much cheaper than using the hob to boil from cold.
